1. Who we are
"Pecan" is the digital brand of Pecantrust Microfinance Bank Limited (RC: 1320032), a microfinance bank licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Our registered address is 32 Grace Anjous Drive, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Nigeria.
2. What we collect
- Identity data, name, date of birth, BVN, NIN, government ID image, selfie
- Contact data, phone number, email, residential address
- Financial data, bank account number, transaction history, employment / income details
- Device data, IP address, browser, device identifiers (for fraud prevention)
- Usage data, analytics events, but only after you consent
3. How we use it
We process your data to: (a) verify your identity and prevent fraud (CBN / NIBSS rails); (b) operate your accounts, loans, cards, and POS terminals; (c) communicate with you about your accounts; (d) comply with regulatory obligations (CBN, NDIC, NFIU, FIRS); (e) improve our products, where you have consented.
4. Who we share with
We share your data with regulators, NIBSS for BVN verification, our payment partners (Verve), AXA Mansard for Pecan Plus enrolments, and our infrastructure providers under written data-protection agreements. We never sell your data.
5. Your NDPR rights
Under the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, correct, port, restrict, or delete your personal data. To exercise any right, email dpo@mypecanbank.com. We respond within 30 days as required by §3.1 (7) NDPR.
6. How long we keep it
Identity and transaction records are retained for at least 7 years per CBN AML/CFT rules. Other data is deleted within 12 months of account closure unless retention is required by law.
7. Cookies
We use strictly-necessary cookies for authentication and security. Analytics cookies (Plausible) only load after you accept the cookie banner. You can revoke consent at any time via the "Manage cookies" link in our footer.
